Sunday..I love Sunday.

Today has been, apart from the weather, a very good day.First there was not one but three car boot sales! But it was a case of slim pickings and I managed to stay fairly attached to my money.I managed to find a few bargains.
A pretty salt and pepper pot(£1)(A gorgeous length of fabric,(£2.50)lots of doylies,(£2.00)some lovely vintage books,(£1)a rather strange family(£1) and a bargain bunch of stocks(£3) which are probably my favourite flowers.
Then there was tea and a nice piece of cake.Perfect....Have a great week.

At the end of a very long, hard day......peace

Just had to show you the Mere which is a well kept secret in Scarborough. This is where Jan and I head on our way home after a school day.Its so peaceful and serene and all the trees with their Spring coats look frothy and lacey at this time of year.
It is the most beautiful walk around the perimeter and usually teeming with birdlife.

I was hoping to catch the swans but they havent made an appearance yet.

And although I love my job.Spending all day from 8.30 until five with small children is very draining in the twilight years so this little interlude is balm to the soul before hitting the home rush traffic and facing the mountain of chores that always seem to await me at home.Just wanted to share. Enjoy the rest of your week ,girls.... nearly there.

caravans......

Have been reading Lucy's recent post Attic 24 and am smitten by'My cool caravan'which I have ordered from Amazon. It is full of gorgeous caravans and campers and is full of heavenly crochet inspiration. My heart is singing and my head is now full of projects and I now have an excuse to buy more wool.......I remember my only caravan holiday was with my brother John aged 4 and I would be about six.We went by trainwith my grandmother and her sister great aunt Polly who had a very spoilt, yappy corgi called Nellie. We stayed in a bijoux (very small)caravan on a very exposed campsite at CaenarvonCastle in NorthWales . It rained and blew gale force winds for the entire week.We played a lot of old Maid and Happy families and drank a lot of hot milk.I loved it though soooo cosy and I remember John and I both had those little brown suitcases like evacuees......Happy days......Anyway in keeping with the theme, above is a rather gorgeous caravan doorstop and below is another beautiful book hand stitched in Sterlingshire. Both available in the shop......Praying for much warmer carbooting weather tomorrow.

Bank Holiday weekends...and best laid plans......

Car boot bargains..
50p
£1
I have a few oversize soak your feet type bowls and I love them but they are rather difficult to store.

50p
£1.50
Well another disappointing bank holiday weekend weatherwise and sooo cold.I am beginning to think that I will have to surgically remove my coat.We have been best friends for the last eight cold, long months and I am tired of being cold.Sundays always seem to be the worst day of the week and Sunday afternoon is my only time off and although it's never enough, I try to pack in as much as I can doing the things I really want to rather than have to.Car booting is my down time.I have to be up at 5.30 on a Sunday to go to work but I have a couple of hours from 8 til 10 to car boot. Lately though this small pleasure has not made my heart sing and I know the weather is a lot to do with it.Bargains are becoming harder to come by these days, but if you look hard there are still little treasures to behold. .....I really need sun though...

Happiness today is.....

My gorgeous purse from Ness that Harry bought me last Christmas. It's too nice to keep money in it,so I use it for storing my lipsticks. Are you jealous? Do love the lining? How jealous are you?
Lovely!Lovely!
King cups in the pond and purple tulips
This month's Period Living and this wonderful picture of notions

My new blanket that is going to be an epic work.I'm loving the colours, choosing the colours and then choosing the next one, but this is going to take me a very very, long time....
